Monica Private Social Work Practice

1.

Pscho-Social Services

How does a family function? How does a family make a distinctive life of its own while living
according to the values of society? In what ways is a family a unit when all its members have
personalities of their own? How can we understand diversity among families?

2.

Marriage Counselling

Description of "relationship counseling" focused on the requested relief of marital conflict rather than on reconstruction of individual personality patterns. Marital stability is held possible even with extreme neurosis in 1 or both partners, provided the needs for which they married are met. Sharing the same caseworker is held vital for encouraging communication and a joint focus. An initial joint interview fosters exploration, further commitment, and recognition of the temporary need for help in surmounting the marital impasse. Diagnostic classifications found useful are: sex role conflict, sado-masochistic conflict, detached-demanding conflict, oral-dependent conflict, and neurotic illness conflict. Successful treatment techniques are presented. Appropriate circumstances outlined for intermittent joint interviews are: contradictory stories, threatened discontinuation, plateaus, reviewing and planning, encouraging communication, follow-up.

3.

Trauma Counselling
  • Rape.

  • Domestic violence.

  • Natural disasters.

  • Severe illness or injury.

  • The death of a loved one.

  • Witnessing an act of violence

4.

Family
Therapy

We identify two distinct components of parent participation in intensive family preservation services: collaboration in treatment planning and compliance with program expectations. Using hierarchical linear models, we explore influences on collaboration and compliance at the case, worker, and program levels. Effects of cross‐level interactions are also examined. Parental substance abuse, mental health problems, minority status, and lack of extended family support predict lower levels of participation. Workers' perceptions of their clients and of their own working conditions appear to influence client participation. Program factors matter as well, although some operate in tandem with case characteristics and worker perceptions.

Therapy Sessions
My Approach

Social work Private Practice provides a starting point to create interventions and plan. Client's problems are addressed through a research-based lens. Social Work Private Practice theories help better understand complex human behaviors and social environments, which influence the clients’ lives and problems. Private Social Work Practice is a good grasp of theory that helps and guide with a sense of direction, purpose and control by using research-based scientific evidence in theory.

One challenge of applying social work theories to practice is choosing the right theory for the situation at hand. It can be difficult to assign a single theory to complex client issues. Often, it’s more practical to draw upon the knowledge of multiple theories and use that understanding to design multifaceted interventions.
